This 137,000 square foot facility is a full-service surgery center, complete with resources for outpatient testing, surgery rooms, OB/GYN and pediatric offices, a sports fitness center and a medical library, which is open to patients. BBEC’s contract encompassed the whole spectrum of systems including power distribution, fire alarm system, multi-metering, telecommunications and emergency generator, to name a few. 

A focal point of the structure is the large rotunda at the entrance. To enhance this feature, a ring of 40-watt fluorescent lights—set in a cove in the first-floor ceiling and controlled with specular louvers—encircles the outer edges of the rotunda, and a ring of adjustable 70-watt PAR38 metal halides were recessed in a circular reveal in a spiral pattern at the top of the three-story rotunda. Another layer of light illuminates the cavity at night, where 39-watt metal halide floodlights up-light the ceiling, as additional 39-watt metal halide floodlights mounted on the roof shine through to the ceiling.

This facility, which opened in 2006, included nurse call and sound systems, and an emergency generator with an automatic transfer switch to ensure patient safety at all times.  We also provided the lighting, power distribution and fire alarm systems.
